2005 - Present... Vice President, Business Services & Environmental Safety Responsible to oversee diverse business and service units (presented below) and to develop comprehensive campus-wide plans for safety, health & environment risk management. 2000 - Present... Associate Vice President, Campus and Business Services This administrative division of the university encompasses four major service units, employs roughly 320 FTEs and oversees a budget of approximately 46 million dollars annually. Major accomplishments during this period are attributed to the outstanding competency of the leadership in each of the units many of which have achieved industry-wide recognition for best practices. Together we have implemented a division-wide "unit review" process encompassing measured stakeholder feedback on each work unit's customers, employees, and owner interests incorporating both self assessment and external review - benchmarking. These efforts have achieved multidimensional improvement including savings in excess of $1,000,000 and measured service enhancement. 1987-2000... Director of Cornell Business Services During this period additional campus businesses were added to the base Cornell Store operation including Travel Services, University General Stores, Computer Sales, The Campus Print Shop, and Warehousing Services expanding a base budget of roughly 16 million annually to 30 million. Many of these units were facing difficult market transitions requiring comprehensive re-engineering prompting rapid change and innovation. Progressive roles within the Cornell Store culminating in director During this period sales increased from $3,000,000 to roughly $16,000,000. Personal role and responsibilities advanced from business manager to store director. The financial contribution to university operations increased tenfold. ( click here for highlights ) Campus-wide change efforts... Have been integral to ALL campus-wide change efforts since 1985. ( click here for highlights ) Vulnerability Assessment Task Force... Co-chaired a comprehensive campus wide initiative to review and upgrade the university's overall security processes in the post-911 environment. Teaching & facilitation... Extensive teaching experience both in the classroom and in a seminar setting. ( click here for highlights ) Entrepreneurial Activities... There have been many entrepreneurial efforts over the past 30 years. Examples are provided here to assist in understanding the breadth of experience. Note.
