About our values
As a
people drawn together to serve in diverse and complementary ways, common
values constitute no less than a social contract governing all personal
interactions. They are the bedrock upon which we build; they overrule
even positional power and authority. We pledge ourselves as individuals,
as work teams, and as members of a world class university to strive to
live up to them and to hold ourselves accountable to them.
These values are tightly interwoven. In some sense one builds upon another:

operational and human.

That includes encouragement, appreciation, instruction, and admonition.

but also in the quality of service to customers and teamwork.

We will walk the talk. We will hold ourselves
accountable by measuring what matters. Values matter! Vision matters!
Our common vision is to pursue balanced stakeholder excellence.
It is our firm conviction that good values are in the long run also
good business; but even if they came at a net economic cost, they remain
the only acceptable standard. They nurture an open and learning organization,
one that fosters trust. Trust is essential to effectiveness and efficiency
in our work.
